The Site also includes any webpages and content managed by SunSource, Inc. and our social media sites (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other community or interactive sites).

CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 18

Our Site is not intended for children under 18 years of age or the age of majority in your state or province of residence. No one under age 18 may provide any information to or on the Site. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you are under 18, do not use or provide any information on this Site. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 18 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Device Information

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information”.

 

We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

Additionally, when you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain payment information from you.

 

We may collect the following types of Personal Data:

  • Name, physical address, email address, postal address, telephone number, unique personal or online identifier, account name and password when you register; 

  • The location of the property or a photographic map of the property where services will be performed;

  • Physical attributes of the property, which may include building type, energy systems, or other information needed to provide installation services;

  • Your billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers), email address, and phone number (“Order Information”).

 

If you are an installer, we may also collect information, such as your drivers’ license and professional credentials, to verify your identity.

 

When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about Device Information and Personal Data.

HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

We do not sell any Personal Information and have not previously sold any Personal Information.

 

We use the Personal Information that we collect generally to provide our Site and Services. Our “Services” include:

  • Providing our online tools to permit you to obtain an “Instant Estimate” and expert guidance on rooftop solar projects through our Site;

  • Processing your payment information, arranging for installation, and providing you with order confirmations if you purchase rooftop solar installation services;

  • Our online marketplace of rooftop solar installers and online tools that provide price quotations for rooftop solar projects to those who purchase such services; and

  • Our marketing and business development activities, including social media, and emails and text messages that we send.

 

Additionally, we may use the Personal Information to: 

  • Respond to your questions and requests and improve customer service;

  • Provide you notices about your account;

  • Carry out and improve our business operations and the Site to provide you with betters services; 

  • When in line with your preferences, provide you with marketing and other information that we believe may be of interest to you; 

  • Comply with legal obligations and professional responsibilities and enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us; and 

  • Fulfill any other purpose for which you voluntarily provide the Personal Information or for any other reason with your consent.

 

You may agree to receive marketing text messages from us at the number you provide, including messages sent by autodialer. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply HELP for help or STOP to cancel.

 

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing, re-targeting and advertising campaigns).

We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use your Personal Information as described above to provide our Services.

 

We share your Personal Information with our third-party installers who perform rooftop solar installation services when you register for these services.

Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

As described above, we use your Personal Information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may be of interest to you.   • Right to limit use and disclosure of sensitive Personal Information: You have the right to request that we only use your sensitive Personal Information (for example, your social security number, financial account information, or your precise geolocation data) for limited purposes, such as providing you with the Services you requested. We only use this information for the limited purposes described in our Privacy Policy.

 

The categories of Personal Information we collect and how we collect it are described above in the section entitled “PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT.” The business and commercial purposes for which your Personal Information is collected is described above in the section entitled “HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?” Sharing of your Personal Information is described under the section entitled “SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION.”

 

To exercise any of these rights, please submit a written request to the address below. In your request, please specify that you want a “CCPA Information Request,” specify your what request you are making, and include your full name, phone number, email address and residential address.

 

As a California resident, you also have the right to request certain details about what Personal Information we share with third parties for those third parties’ direct marketing purposes.

 

Upon receipt of a request with the necessary information from you, we will search our records to determine whether or not we have collected any of your Personal Information. We will confirm receipt of your request within 10 days. If we need additional information to verify your identity, we will notify you. Please allow 45 days for a response. If we cannot comply with your request for any reason within that 45-day period, we will notify you.

Our Site is not intended to be available for visitors who are under 18 years old without parental or guardian consent. In accordance with the law, if you are under 18 and have an account on our Site, you may ask us to remove reviews or other content that you posted on the site by https://sunsourceus.com/contact/. We will begin to process your request within 30 days. Please note that processing your request does not ensure complete or comprehensive removal of content that you posted.

In accordance with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the United Kingdom’s Data Protection Act 2018, SunSource will use your Personal Information only for the purposes intended and as detailed in the Privacy Policy unless we have obtained your consent to use it for other purposes.

Residents of the EU, Switzerland, and UK are notified that the Personal Information they provide to us is stored in the company’s databases outside of the EU, Switzerland, and UK including in Canada and the United States and may be subject to disclosure to authorized law enforcement or government agencies in response to lawful demand pursuant to the laws of that country.

However, this will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdraw your consent.
